Description:

Reporting to the Board Secretary, the Committee Secretary will assist the Board Secretary by performing a wide range of administrative and office support activities of the Board Secretariat.

Key performance areas will include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing administrative, logistical, and office support.
  • Assisting with the planning, scheduling, and organizing of Board and Committee meetings and taking minutes of Board Committees as appropriate.
  • Ensuring effective document and information management.
  • Assisting in ensuring compliance with statutory legislation and regulatory requirements as well as the King Report on Corporate Governance.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate must have the following qualifications and experience:

  • A National Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Business/Law/ Administration/CIS or equivalent qualification.
  • 3 to 5 years of administrative experience with the Board of Directors and Committees of the Board.
  • Previous experience as a Committee Officer operating in a high-level office.
  • Exceptional secretarial and administrative skills.
  • Good knowledge of corporate governance and compliance prescripts and relevant legislation, including public sector legislation.
